Maverick Fitness to Host Special Olympics Texas Athletes During 90-Minute Fundraiser Class to Benefit Special Olympics Texas

Dallas, Texas – June 20, 2023 – Maverick Fitness Holdings, owner of 35 Orangetheory® Fitness studios in North Texas, along with Orangetheory Fitness studios across the state of Texas, will host Special Olympics Texas athletes during an exclusive 90-minute class at their studios on July 22 & 23, 2023. Orangetheory members will pay $25 to participate in the class with all proceeds going to Special Olympics Texas. Normal classes at Orangetheory are 60 minutes so this class will be an extra challenge for members. They also have the option to donate money to Special Olympics Texas if they cannot make the class.

“We are delighted to collaborate with Special Olympics North Texas and champion the incredible athletes in our community. Orangetheory Fitness is built on the belief that fitness has the power to transform lives, and through this partnership, we aim to empower SOTX athletes to reach their full potential. We invite everyone to join us in making a difference and support the inclusion revolution.”, says Shane Adams, CEO, Maverick Fitness.

Since the beginning of 2020 Orangetheory Fitness has continued to expand their partnership and support of Special Olympics Texas and their athletes. What started as a way for Orangetheory employees to get involved in their local community by volunteering at different events transformed during the Pandemic as a way to keep Special Olympics athletes across the state engaged in social activities and focused on health and wellness during an extremely difficult time for everyone.

In 2021, as more in-person workouts began to take place again, Orangetheory expanded their partnership with Special Olympics Texas by doing more for the athletes and getting Orangetheory members involved across the entire Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and Texas. They are continuing that initiative today.

“Now in our 3rd year of partnership with Orangetheory Fitness, we could not be more excited! The Special Olympics athletes who participated in the past have been asking and hoping to participate again, some now have Orangetheory memberships thanks to studios hosting this inclusion class. I would like to thank Maverick Fitness and Jaclyn Garcia for their efforts and dedication to inclusion. We will continue to expand the impact between OTF and Special Olympics across the state of Texas and now Louisiana.”, says Dalton Hill, Director of Strategic Partnerships, Special Olympics Texas.

Maverick Fitness, who owns 35 Orangetheory® Fitness studios in North Texas, makes it a priority to give back to the communities they serve. In 2018, Maverick Fitness created OrangeLove, their non-profit initiative where one charity is chosen monthly to be the recipient of a cash donation. Orangetheory Fitness members are encouraged at the end of each class to check in on social media, tagging the charity. Maverick Fitness then donates up to $5,000 to the charity of choice.

In addition, Maverick Fitness Executive office is dedicated to doing quarterly Days of Service working with local non-profits such as Habitat for Humanity, The Birthday Party Project, The Salvation Army, and Irving Cares.

Headquartered in Frisco, TX, Maverick is the second-largest franchisee for Orangetheory® Fitness, with 34 studios, over 18,000 members.

Orangetheory® Fitness launched its first studio in Fort Lauderdale, FL in March 2010, and has transformed into one of the world’s top fitness franchises, with more than 1,300 studios in 50 states and 22 countries. The 60-minute, five zone heartrate monitored interval training concept combines a unique trifecta of science, coaching, and technology to give members More Life.
